The Severn Valley Railway
The Severn Valley Railway runs along a heritage line from Kidderminster to to Arley and then onto Bridgnorth, and is one of the most popular heritage railways in the UK. Along the way, the train passes through some stunning countryside as well as some spectacular sights such as the West Midlands Safari Park.
Throughout the year, The Severn Valley hosts a variety of special events celebrating the Bridgnorth Beer Festival in September, Remembrance Sunday in November, Santa Steam Specials, Christmas Carol Trains during December and ‘Back to the 1940’s’ in the summer months and much, much more.
Walking, Cycling and Fishing
Worralls Grove is located just 100 meters from the River Severn within the peaceful and relaxing rural location of Upper Arley.
Running at the bottom of Worralls Grove’s terraced garden is a public footpath. Ideal for cyclists, fishermen and walkers, with access to the River Severn, Worcestershire Way, Eymore Wood and Gunhill Wood.
For those looking for a spot of retail therapy nearby market towns of Bewdley, Stourport, Bridgnorth and Ludlow provide a wide range of quaint shops and stalls. The Merry Hill Shopping Centre in Dudley is only 35 minutes away and has an over 250 Shops, a Retail Park and Cinema.

West Midlands Safari Park
Opened in 1973, West Midland Safari and Leisure Park is located at Bewdley in Worcestershire. There are over 165 species of animals to see along with an amazing amusement and leisure park, Sea Lion Theatre, SeaQuarium, a Safari Express Railway, restaurants and cafes.
West Midlands Safari Park is proud to house the largest and only pride of White Lions in the UK, along with white tigers, and the largest coalition of cheetahs. There are also Hippo Lakes, a Penguin Cove, a Twilight Cave, an African Village, Lemur Woods and much more.
Arley Arboretum is situated within peaceful and relaxing surroundings, with over 30 acres of grounds and spectacular views. There are wonderful walled gardens to explore, along with an amazing collection of rare species of plants and trees. Children can enjoy the hornbeam maze and exhilarating dinosaur trail or enchanting fairy trail. Guided tours are available or you can take your time to soak up the beauty and take a picnic on the lawns.
Go Ape Treetop Adventure
Enjoy a forest adventure with a twist at the Go Ape’s Treetop Adventure in the Wyre Forest near Bewdley. So why not take your friends, family or work colleagues to soar down the zip-wires or take the Tarzan Swing and Go Ape!
Bewdley it situated on the banks of the River Severn in Worcestershire and is a pretty Georgian town with many shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes.
As well as many local events that take place throughout the year, the famous Bewdley Regatta is held each July and the banks of the River Severn offer a fabulous vantage point to watch the teams race along the River Severn. The Bewdley Museum is also a great place to explore with the many crafts and skills that the areas of Worcestershire and the Wyre Forest are renowned for.
Bewdley also offers some of the best fishing in the area with its wide spaces, swift current and superb fish swims. There are also many guided fishing trips and river bank walks available, along with tackle shops situated just a few minutes walk from the river.
Dudmaston Hall is a 17th Century Mansion set near to the village of Quatt, near Bridgnorth, where there is a wonderful art collection including both classical and modern paintings as well as many sculptures and Spanish pottery. The Hall is set within many beautiful landscaped gardens, with a pool, Orchard and children’s play area. There are also some great year round walks that can be enjoyed around the edges of the estate.
